Opryss

Privacy Policy

Effective September 30, 2026

This policy explains what information opryss.com collects, why we collect it, who handles it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to reply to you and keep the site working, and we don't sell it.

Who we are

Opryss (“Opryss,” “we,” “us”) builds software for schools, churches, restaurants, businesses, and nonprofits. We're headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, and work with organizations in the United States and, through Opryss Africa, across Africa. This policy covers opryss.com.

Information you give us

When you submit one of our forms, we receive what you enter:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
  • Get started (intake): your organization's name and type, your name and email address, and — if you choose to give them — your phone or WhatsApp number, preferred contact method, country, city, organization size, the problem you're facing, and any system you use today.
  • Schedule a call: your name, email address, organization (optional), what the call is about, and your preferred times.

Please don't include passwords, payment details, government ID numbers, health information, or information about children in a form. We don't need them to reply.

Information collected automatically

  • Your IP address, briefly, to limit how often a form can be submitted and block abuse. Where we keep a shared counter for this, we store a one-way hash of the address rather than the address itself, and the counter expires within about 10 minutes.
  • Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider (such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested) for security and reliability.
  • Anonymous visit statistics through Vercel Web Analytics: which pages are viewed, the referring site, and general device, browser, and country information. It doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device, and it doesn't identify you or follow you across other sites. We use it only to see how the site is used.
  • Your light/dark theme choice, saved in your own browser's storage. It never leaves your device.

We don't use advertising, tracking cookies, or cross-site tracking on opryss.com, and we don't build profiles of visitors.

How we use it

  • To reply to you and understand what your organization needs.
  • To schedule and prepare for calls you request.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.

We won't add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails unless you ask us to. We don't sell or rent your information.

Who handles it for us

We use a small number of service providers, only to run the site and deliver your messages:

  • Vercel hosts the website, processes form submissions, and provides the anonymous visit statistics described above.
  • Resend delivers form submissions to our inbox as email.
  • Upstash stores the short-lived, hashed rate-limit counters described above.
  • Apple iCloud Mail hosts the inbox where submissions arrive.

If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy, and we use it only to reply to you.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of Opryss, our clients, or others.

Where it's processed

Opryss is based in the United States, and our website is hosted there. If you contact us from Africa or anywhere else, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, and possibly in other countries where our service providers operate.

How long we keep it

Form submissions stay in our inbox for as long as they're useful for our conversation or working relationship with you. You can ask us to delete them at any time. Rate-limit counters expire within about 10 minutes. Hosting logs are kept according to our hosting provider's retention periods.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us at hello@opryss.com and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; we'll honor them.

Children

opryss.com is meant for adults contacting us on behalf of an organization. It isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 through this site. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Systems we build for clients

This policy covers opryss.com only. When we build or run a system for a school, church, or other organization — for example, one that holds student or member records — that organization decides how the information is used, and our handling of it is governed by our agreement with them and their own privacy notice.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to submissions is limited to the people at Opryss who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
